About this page
I decided to make the website around what I absolutely love - Dogs and my wonderful girlfriend! I've worked as a dog trainer for a while, and she does amazing work with her dog daycare business, so I figured It'd be nice to show them off!

A few general tips for working with dogs!
These are just some general best practices that I've found while working with dogs. Obviously, your mileage may vary, as every dog is different!
- Cultivate trust! Easier said than done, but it really helps if you ask yourself "Does the dog understand what I'm asking of them?" Most dogs respond well to a consistent routine and clear commands, so ensuring that they understand what you want is key!
- Be patient!I know that working with some dogs can be frustrating, particularly when they seem to actively ignore you, but allowing that frustration to show will only make things worse. Remember that dogs can pick up on your emotions, so staying calm and positive is crucial.
- Make training worth your dog's while! Sure, some dogs will just be good for you right out the gate - usually because they're motivated by attention. But every dog is different; some respond best to treats, others to a favorite toy, or even the opportunity to go outside and play. Figure out what makes your dog tick, and use that to your advantage!
- When we say "Socialization," we don't necessarily mean "Get the dog used to other dogs and people," although that certainly is a large part of it! Really, socialization is the process of getting a dog used to a wide range of different situations. This could involve meeting new dogs and people, but also includes things like going out in public, or experiencing new sounds! The key here is to make your dog understand that a new experience is a positive thing!
